I love weddings. It's a secret addition that my boyfriends thinks is crazy, much like my obsession with the Bachelor show. Every time I tell him I'm heading to a bridal show he gets a little panic in his eyes and I have to reassure him "Babe, it's just for work, chill." Men are from Mars, right?
Bridal shows are a fantastic way to meet potential brides, new wedding vendors, event spaces and get inspired for the upcoming wedding season. I really enjoy the happiness that radiates at this types of event. Every girl is planning the most special day of her life and it's a fun atmosphere.
So, here are a few things that struck me from the past couple of shows I visited in Overland Park, KS.
Finally got to meet Amy Billings, owner and operator of Buffalo Lodge in Kingsville, MO. I've heard so much about her from our mutal friend (and local branding/marketing expert) Kelly Lightfoot of Ampersand Creative.
Talk about 2 wonderful ladies!
Kelly, helped Buffalo Lodge develop their gorgeous logo, marketing/print materials and website. So nice!
Consentino's Price Chopper Catering service has old fashion creamy mints, just like my Grandma made!
This cake is about as gorgeous as a wedding dress. Who doesn't want a little bling on their sweets?
Best discovery of the day: THE PHOTO BUS! Really, truly enjoyed my conversations with the owners, John and Cate. Great people with a great attitude and great idea. Check them out for sure!
I was drawn to this booth with it's rustic charm and vintage finishes and classic elegance. Turns out wedding planner, Jillian Randall, of JJ Productions and I have very similar tastes and thoughts on design. Can't wait to work with her in the future.
I fell in love with the paper set from Denise Clark at For All Occasions: Clark Stationary. The colors and the watercolor flowers, the stripes and the hints of gold bling. Wow, so lovely. Hopefully, it's still being made when I get married. . .
"Would you like to sample a mini desert shot?" "Why of course, I don't discriminate against small deserts"
So in summary,
1) Wedding shows are great
2) I love cake
3) Wedding industry people are so fun
4) OH and if you know anyone getting engaged in the Kansas City are, send them my way for wedding floral :) Cheers!
